Lindsay Lohan’s alleged hit-and-run victim is an Iraq War veteran, of course

When a p0rn star named Voodoo claimed that Lindsay Lohan paid him for sex, everyone took their eye off the ball long enough to screech “Ew! GROSS.” And then everyone forgot about Lindsay Lohan’s latest cracked-out hit-and-run, which went down last week. She allegedly kneecapped the manager of The Hookah Lounge when she was driving her Porsche (the choicest vehicle for cracked-out drivers), then she drove off. The dude first claimed that he wasn’t injured, then later went to the emergency room and filed a police report. What was lost amongst the p0rn star story was a series of little addendums: one, Lindsay has threatened to countersue the manager if he files a civil claim against her, and two, Lindsay is refusing to cooperate with the LAPD as they investigate the hit-and-run situation. And now this latest news from TMZ – the dude is named Thaer Kamal. He’s an Iraq War veteran. And he’s hired Mark Geragos. CODE RED CRACKEN!

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … both Lindsay Lohan and the man who claims she struck him while she was driving her Porsche last week are refusing to cooperate with police.

We’re told Lindsay and the alleged victim — Thaer Kamal — have both refused to sit down with the detectives for an interview. Important to note … neither has an obligation to sit for an interview, but it’s unlikely cops will even refer the matter to prosecutors if the alleged victim is uncooperative.

But it gets way more interesting … Sources tell us an investigator from an insurance company contacted Lindsay’s lawyer and said they were investigating the alleged victim for 6 – 8 cases of insurance fraud — allegedly staging car accidents and filing phony claims.

And the plot thickens … although the insurance investigator told Lindsay’s lawyer he believed the person accusing Lindsay of hit-and-run was the same person they were investigating … sources at the insurance company tell us the alleged fraudster’s first name is Amr — not Thaer, and the last name is different as well.

We do not know if Thaer — a former soldier in Iraq — used such an alias.

But we do know that Thaer has hired famed lawyer Mark Geragos, who has already made a settlement demand to Lindsay. We contacted Geragos about the allegations and he said his guy was not involved in insurance fraud, but when we called back regarding the alias Geragos did not pick up.

And the final twist — Lindsay is in court next week for her final probation progress hearing. If the hit-and-run case goes haywire on her, it could jeopardize her freedom.

We could not reach Lindsay’s lawyer, Shawn Holley for comment.

Wait, what? “Sources tell us an investigator from an insurance company contacted Lindsay’s lawyer and said they were investigating the alleged victim for 6 – 8 cases of insurance fraud — allegedly staging car accidents and filing phony claims.” Let’s dissect that, shall we? “Sources” are obviously “The Cracken” and “Mother Crackhead”. But I don’t think either Lindsay or Dina is bright enough to come up with the “insurance fraud” angle on their own. They had some help there – who is the brains of this cracked-out con? Shawn Holley? As for the “Oh, wait, that dude filing all of the claims has a completely different name!” – well, obviously. Because why wouldn’t TMZ include some completely unsubstantiated allegations about a man with a completely different name in a story about Lindsay Lohan’s cracked-out hit-and-run shenanigans? You can see a photo of Mr. Kamal here, at TMZ. What’s more dangerous, you think? Serving in Iraq or being outside of a club when Lindsay Lohan is behind the wheel?

UPDATE: TMZ has this story up now:

The man who claims Lindsay Lohan struck him while she was driving her Porsche last week is demanding “six figures” from her …. and she must pay before her big probation progress hearing.

Sources connected with alleged victim Thaer Kamal tell TMZ … Mark Geragos — Kamal’s lawyer — has contacted Lindsay’s lawyer, Shawn Holley, and made the demand … and Geragos made it clear that his client has not yet cooperated with cops by sitting down for an interview.

We’re also told Geragos claims to have a surveillance video showing Lindsay behind the wheel as her Porsche strikes Kamal, then getting out of the car and wobbling into the passenger seat as the passenger takes the wheel and drives off. But our sources say none of the witnesses corroborate what Geragos claims is on video.

We’re told Geragos gave Holley a deadline of today. That’s significant because Lindsay is due in court on Thursday for her final probation progress hearing. If Kamal goes to cops and presents evidence of hit-and-run, Judge Stephanie Sautner could violate Lindsay’s probation and she could go directly to jail.

On the other hand, if Lindsay pays the money … Kamal could decide not to press charges and the case would be dropped.

By the way, we’re told Kamal told people at the scene he was not injured but had a change of heart after learning the driver was Lindsay.

Update: 8:58 PM PST: Apparently Lindsay is not going to pay Kamal, because we’ve learned he’s now going to plan B — we’re told he’s trying to sell the video.

Interesting. It’s not blackmail because it’s all going through the lawyers, correct? The surveillance video angle is particularly good, especially since the insinuation is that LL was “wobbling” (drunk). Still, I’d like to see one of the Cracken’s victims really pursue criminal charges to the fullest rather than expect some payoff.

    Being in the vicinity of Cracken is the same as a war zone.

    First,this is utterly ridiculous. And second, where can is LL getting the money for all of these civil suits. Third, where can I get my degree online so that I can become a lawyer for LL? I know that that it would be immoral to defend her but at least I would be getting a steady paycheck.

    • Jo 'Mama' Besser says:

      It’s not immoral to represent Lindsay Lohan, it’s immoral to be Lindsay Lohan. Holley should get a Nobel Peace Prize for not pulling out her client’s hair until she could see the red again.

    Next victim ? A handicaped women who lost both parents in 9/11. Lindsay Lohan is more entertaining than most of soap operas!

  4. gee says:

    If she ever hits me with her car, I promise I will press charges. THEN I will file a civil suit.

  5. hillbillygirl45 says:

    God, please let the man sue this nasty bitch! Why does she ALWAYS look like she only has a passing acquaintance with water and soap!? If this was anyone else on probation, the P.O. would have called them in for a pee test, or questions, or something….I am SO sick of this crack-ho getting away with all her crap.

    that last picture – holy shit.

    The things LL goes through that no movie or tv producer can’t come up with because it seems so unrealistic but this is the life of a crackhead anything goes.

  8. jwoolman says:

    Well, this is a big Who Knows What Happened.

    If she really did hit the guy and ER reports check out (very common for the physical response to kick in hours later after you think you’re fine, the human body is fragile compared to even a slow moving Porsche) – she should thank her lucky stars that he’s willing to avoid the police and go straight to the settlement that would be inevitable anyway. Six figures are reasonable in a country with such an awful medical insurance system. Even if he’s a war vet, there is no guarantee that help will be there when he needs it. Veterans benefits are routinely cut to pay for more wars. People who are injured have to think ahead to potential lost income, increased insurance premiums, and medical costs far in the future.

    If she really didn’t let her Porsche come near the guy, then she needs to cooperate with police, with her lawyer at her side, to get her story on the record.

    But if Lindsay & Co. are spreading false rumors again about an “alleged victim” – let’s hope she gets pinned to the wall, legally speaking. I’m getting tired of the Lohans fighting all their battles through the tabloids, smearing everybody who gets hurt by them.

    • ahoyhoy says:

      I’m surprised more commenters haven’t ever been in an ‘small’ accident where they thought they were fine, then the pain & injuries show up hours later. It happens in slow-speed car accidents all the time. Your adrenaline takes over at first, so you can’t feel your injuries.

      ALWAYS call an ambulance when it’s not your fault. ALWAYS. If you let a guy go, you may not have his info when you realize you need care.

      • Jo 'Mama' Besser says:

        Oh, I’ve been there–twice. Never, never, NEVER let a person who has been hit brush it off due to feeling ‘fine’. Your adrenaline’s working, but that doesn’t mend internal injuries and soft tissue damage. Who’s to say you didn’t fracture something? Not to mention the pain and swelling that come along hours or even days later. And it doesn’t even have to be the blunt force trauma that does you in, it can be really insidious and something like the place or angle of contact has and does make a huge difference.

        The body is just too strange and sometimes unpredictable to make feeling fine a non-starter for an argument about going to the ER, so just go.

        I don’t know if this fellow is trying to bilk anyone out of any money, but I’m going to trust the statements of a recidivist and the publication that doesn’t seem to understand that if you’re presented with two different names that are spelled and pronounced differently, you might not want to assume they belong to the same person.

        I’ll never know what *truly* happened, but neither will the chuckleheads covering this story either.

    I gotta say, I think your desire to see LL finally busted for real is clouding your judgement on this one. It’s clear that this site (and mostly this author) are more than a little obsessed with her (and if I’m being honest with myself, so I am I as I only come to this site for one reason anymore and it’s to read about LL’s shenanigans because there’s at least a post a day about her here even if there’s no “real” news), so I think you’re biased. I’m team “Accountability” all the way, but this is the rare exception. I think this guy is a scammer and I the fact that he’s changed his story so many times alone makes me realize he just wants a payday. Which…for anyone that actually follows LL knows, is not gonna happen. He should look for a celeb that actually has $.

    This is LA, FFS; can she not valet?!?

    • Madisyn says:

      Hey Belle

      Forget valet, if only she’d try something new, like SOBRIETY?

      • the original bellaluna says:

        Oh, now come on Mad – I was trying to stay realistic!

        Crackburger has about as much chance at sobriety as OctoMom or Kate Gosselin meeting a husband (who isn’t in prison). 😀

      • Boo says:

        Or lush it up in the privacy of her own (well, someone else’s) hotel room!

  13. Laura says:

    @Mollination
    ITAWY on the above. I’m no Lohan sympathiser but things do not add up in this story from his side. However, her lawyer is doing her no favours by not telling her the best thing to do is to speak to the police. But hey, maybe she’s gotten away with it so many times that he thinks it doesn’t matter how they approach these things.

    On a sidenote, I think it’s sad that we live in a society now where things like this are acceptable, famous or otherwise.

  14. the original bellaluna says:

    Ok, I’ve been reading the “well, his story has changed too” posts, so may I make the following points?

    * He’s a Gulf War Vet, and could very well have some emotional/mental issues due to being such;

    * He could also be on medication for said issues;

    * He may very well be/have been involved in “insurance scams” prior to this incident, but that’s not been proven (to my knowledge);

    * Linnocent is a known clipper-of-babies, and being a shitty driver in general (look it up);

    * She has a well-documented history of violating the law, and then thumbing her nose (and crotch – sorry, couldn’t resist) at the law enforcement community as a whole, from the cops who arrest her to the judges who refuse to throw her ass in jail;

    * Blohan has not EVER been known to LIE in an attempt to absolve, excuse, or exonerate herself *sarcasm, DUH* from ANYTHING, EVER, EVEN WHEN SHE DID IT;

    * The Cracken is “clean and sober” (just ask Matt Lauer) and, according to her, had NEVER, EVER done ANYTHING WRONG IN HER ENTIRE LIFE.

    It’s just that we’re all mean, jealous haters who believe the papp’s pix of her on her knees (because THEY TRIPPED HER) and the evil lies/rumours started by those who want to keep her from WORKING!

  15. hmm says:

    look at the picture on TMZ of the guy. the badge has a name that starts with an M. maybe Martinez? that’s not even a pic of the right guy!!
